5000 USD is fundraised from public to donate to brave ranger Ngo Duc Lien
In May 2023, WildAct launched a fundraising campaign for ranger Ngo Duc Lien - Legal Officer of Chu Yang Sin National Park (CYSNP) Ranger District, who was shot by poachers during a patrol. Within only 3 weeks, the campaign gained a lot of attention from the local and foreign communities, raising more than 105 million VND to help Mr. Lien. The generosity and kindness of the communities have become a great motivation for Mr. Lien and the forest rangers to continue carrying out conservation work at Chu Yang Sin National Park, regardless of the menaces of loggers and hunters.
In the third quarter of 2023, we presented a donation fund worth more than 105 million VND (approx. $5000) from the public to Mr. Lien. He expressed his thanks to communities: “The support of the community and WildAct has made me extremely emotional. I feel that we - as rangers, are no longer alone in this field. Now, a majority of individuals and organizations stand by us. I would like to express my deep gratitude to WildAct who has supported me. The work of the WildAct is a source of encouragement for me, as well as those who are working in forest management, protection,and development to have more motivation to work harder."
